Plaza Premium Group (PPG) is bringing its award‑winning Plaza Premium Lounge experience to the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station with the opening of the West Kowloon High Speed Rail Business Lounge.
Operated in partnership with MTR Corporation, operator of the High Speed Rail (Hong Kong Section), this milestone launch marks the city’s first-ever dedicated high-speed rail lounge, offering business class passengers a comfortable place to relax, refresh and reconnect before departure.
The launch aligns with the robust growth of high-speed rail travel, underscored by the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station recently hitting a record of over 16 million passenger trips in the first half of the year, reflecting a growth of over 10% compared with the same period last year. As the station continues to facilitate extensive traffic, connecting to 113 destinations across the Chinese Mainland, the lounge provides an essential sanctuary for travellers seeking comfort and ease. This development builds upon PPG’s proven track record of operating high-speed rail lounges in major hubs, including Changsha, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
Strategically located at the Departure Concourse on Level B2 in the Mainland Port Area, the 810-square-metre lounge offers a sophisticated sanctuary for travellers. The lounge balances comfort with functionality. Guests can unwind in thoughtfully designed seating areas, while business travellers stay productive with dedicated workstations, high-speed Wi-Fi, and charging stations. An assortment of refreshments and beverages is available. Furthermore, the lounge offers private rooms and dedicated staff to assist guests through the terminal and boarding gates upon departure, ensuring that every journey begins with personalised hospitality. The space also features contemporary interiors and a bespoke mural by local artist Arthur Hang, which beautifully captures the iconic Hong Kong cityscape.
