The expansion underscores PPG’s long-term commitment to Latin America, a key pillar in its global strategy. The project brings together cross-regional expertise, with integrated collaboration from its global network in Hong Kong, the United States, Brazil and Chile, demonstrating PPG’s ability to deliver world-class airport experiences at scale. Today, PPG operates across more than 150 countries and 600 airports, serving over 30 million passengers annually.

“More than expanding our geographic footprint, our arrival in Chile represents a long-term investment in one of the region’s most important markets,” said David Thompson, Senior Vice President, Latin America, adding that “new projects are already under evaluation in the country, and we believe we will soon further strengthen our presence in this important market.” This growth trajectory is expected to continue, with additional lounge openings planned for 2027.

PPG’s entry into Chile reflects both the growing importance of Santiago as a major aviation hub and its continued focus on high-potential markets. Through its globally recognized standards in hospitality, design and passenger experience, PPG will introduce premium lounge environments tailored to the evolving needs of modern travelers. PPG’s excellence has been recognized with over 180 international awards, further cementing its leadership in the sector.

The new lounges that PPG will open in our Domestic Terminal, which welcomed over 12 million passengers between Santiago and 17 cities in the country in 2025, are aligned with the focus on experience and hospitality that are pivotal for Santiago de Chile Airport, as they will provide high-quality areas, with a distinctive seal of Chilean identity”, says Nicolas Claude, CEO of Santiago de Chile Airport.

Plaza Premium Group’s expansion into Chile comes at a pivotal moment for its Latin American operations. In 2026, the Group marks ten years in Latin America, with Brazil being its first market in the region— launched at Tom Jobim International Airport (Galeão) in Rio de Janeiro.
